th64
Need tires for my 2000 Jeep-was on a tire store weebsite they said that narrow tires cut through the snow better than wide tires-seems logical so should I buy narrow tires,? my biggest concern is driving on the ice I have another vehicle for around town stuff-think I might just replace the fronts and get aggresive tred-any ideas brands stores etc. would be appreciated-Thanks
JakeJ_Mn
I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler and have Mastercraft Courser CT tires 31x10.5x15s. I have had no trouble going thru the snow on the road or lakes with these. They are a little noisy on pavement.
JSK76
Get a set of Goodyear Dura Trac's and drive though more snow then any other tire hands down.
dan z
Taller tires cut through the drifts better. My best advise is stay away from duelers unless there revo 2's. Even though Michelin and Goodyear make mostly highway tires they are pretty good tires for off road usage. Lots of little lugs equall very good traction. no bait nate
Put Goodyear DuraTracs on my 1500 Chevy this year and couldn't be happier. Great in the snow and on the ice, little to no road noise for an off road tire. I put the stock size tire on there 265/70 instead of up sizing and and glad, these tires are so great I don't think there is any need to go bigger either. centralmnguy
X3 on the dura tracs...rated to drive in the mountains without chains and pinned for studs! Bought mine at discount tire!
20lbSloughShark
If you want just winter tires, then I would get blizzaks. They are way better than any year round tire. Narrow is better. I would not get aggressive mud tires. They do fine on snow, but they are deadly on ice.

I have Cooper Discover AT3's on my truck, they have been a pretty good tire. Pretty cheap if you get them from "The man store" while they're running a deal. Funny you say that, my new truck has Dueler A/T's (not revo 2's) and they are hands down the best all season tire I've ever had. Granted they only have 6000 miles on them now, but they are awesome on ice and snow. I've talked to a few guys that have had them on their truck too. 50K-60K+ and they loved every mile! Coon
Put a set of Firestone Destination A/T's on my 2011 F-150 super crew. Pretty happy with them
benbosh
I have the Revo 2's and I think they're an awesome tire. Good traction on the snow and ice and anywhere else tooMy cousin used to work at a tire shop and they always said up there that Goodyear's are named Goodyear because your lucky to get a good year out of them.
