How about a small dog / pet carrier with some reflectix lining? You could even just glue some foam on the inside and just leave the front gate area open for air. Face the gate down wind.......pretty sure you could get a pet carrier on that there craigsthingermajobber

I built a folding wooden box to fit around my Honda 2000. It has a 8"x8" air vent on the back side for exhaust. The top flips up so I can put the in gas. Used 3/8 plywood so it's not heavy or takes up much space. I turn it so the side is to the wind. Never had a problem with blowing snow.

Jake,do you leave the box on the ground?I've had people wandering around "looking"for free stuff in the middle of the night. Trying to think of a way to secure the generator to the ice or the vehicle.Maybe drill a hole and let a chain freeze in (then chop out at the end of season). You could also use said chain to secure the wanderers until the proper authorities show up!Any other ideas would be helpful!c63

Just cable lock it to your house or vehicle.

Thanks for all the feedback, the wind chill was 55 below n froze up 2 Hondas on red two yrs ago and I don't care to fall victim to this again thus my wheel house needs 120v for heating, batteries don't last to long! But I do carry my buddy heater along for this type of issue. My first honda ended up having fuel issues, surging like starving for fuel etc. rebuilt carb n ran better but wasnt sure for how long . Ended up buying a 2nd 2000 honda, I'll b running non oxygenated fuel in only ,c if keeps it running smooth?

You might want to add some heat to that non oxy fuel or you will have the same freeze up problems we used to have before oxygenated gas came along. I tryed that non oxygenated gas in my 2000 honda in 30 below it froze up had to put it in the house every half hour to thaw it out all night to get it to run. Never had that problem with oygenated gas the next night.

One can use a cable but, the good thieves have cable or bolt cutters but it would deter them a little.

When it gets dark, I put mine away and do not use it at niight unless I am awake.

I carry a couple batteries so no issue's with running out of power for the furnace.

Too bad in today's world one has to be concerned about anything one has getting stolen.
