One man shelter?

I am trying to decide between a frabill recon and a Dave genz fishtrap pro. What are your thoughts and advice between the two shelters? They are both used shelters I am looking at.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have a recon that I bought new. I love it, but if given the choice I'd take the fishtrap. I think they are better quality. My material is looking kinda ratty. The recon is very light but I've never hauled a fishtrap to compare it with.

Depending on how you fish be sure to check out the Fish Trap Scout. This house is perfect for the guy that likes to stay light and mobile. I've been fishing out of them for years and simply love this house. If you like he extra room then the Pro is a better option.

Good fishing,

I have a frabil commando, Frabil trecker, and Clam fish trap 2 man.

I just got the Commando this year used, like the other frabil here are the problems. The fabric is more like plastic coated, dont know the term so it wears funny if it rubs. The poles are fixed so no moving poles, but this mean the sled is bigger so depending on how your going to transport it might not even make any sense. My clam sled is way thicker and better than both of the frabils, so you will need some skid protection. the poles are much bigger and slide better on the clam.

The seats in both units are nice the Frabil ones spin around I dont know about the genz, the clam fabric is better and the plastic windows also seem to be more durable on the clam.

The black house is nice during the day with sun, If It was me and I had the decision to make again I would go with the Genz trap. I think I could get that sled in the back of my lincoln which would make my life a bit easier.

good luck both houses are better than a bucket, after fishing out of 2 man houses you need to get used to the space in there. I fish one hole right next to the sled and offset the other hole by the door. I fish my dead stick in the hole by the sled so if something bites it I stand up and spin around.

Picked up my first Fish Trap this year, the Legend Thermal, and it is awesome. It has all kinds of room inside it to move around and for gear, it is full thermal and keeps the inside warmer, the seat is very comfortable, and it pulls pretty well if you don't have a 4-wheeler like I don't. I would highly recommend getting one of these.
