Diago
I need a new pair of winter boots. I am considering the Sorel ice-king, ice-man, or the Bunny Boots. Can anyone share some advise as to which one is warmer? Thanks,Jim
BartmanMN
I think you mean Lacrosse Ice Kings. I've had mine for the past 6-7 years. They are extremely warm, but they are not the lightest boot out there. They are like walking on pillows.

Bob Hicks
I've been active in the winter outdoors for more than a couple of years - I'm 71 years young. Please trust me when I tell you that there isn't a warmer boot out there that is better than the military boot. They are generally called either Korean boots, Mickey Mouse boots, or bunny boots. They come in white (Type II) or black (Type I) and the color signifies the cold extreme they are built for.The black pair is rated for temperatures down to −20 °F (−28.9 °C) and are made with oil/diesel resistant rubber. The white pair is designed for use in extreme cold weather down to −65 °F (−53.8 °C).I've been using the same white pair for winter hunting and fishing since 1973 and have NEVER had cold feet while using them in weather down to -25 °F. I've tried several other felt pack boots and nothing else comes close.
Bill F
Hey, you might want to consider checking out Baffin Boots at Baffin.com. They make boots for the Oil and other outdoor industries in Alaska and the Canadian Arctic. They have several models rated to -100F, -65F, etc. They are very well made and use newer boot technology. Good luck whatever you choose.

Worn them snowplowing with my ATV in below zero weather and no cold feet!! Will try them next weekend for our first ice fishing.

Sergio M
If you have big feets like I do size 15 then check out the Baffin bay boots. I have a pair of the Baffin Bay boots rated for -145F the best boots I have ever owned.
sausageman
I have both the Ice King and Bunny boots. Both are very warm, but I give the nod to the Bunny boots, for the following reason. When swiping the ice shavings away from the hole the top portion of the Ice Kings are leather and soaks in the water and the all rubber Bunny boots don't. albinodeerguy
Baffin gets my vote. I work on Mille Lacs during the winter months and these boots have saved my feet more than once. They're triple stitched and made to last. I've had mine for 3 years now and the only complaint is I wish I had bought them sooner. If you like to wear more than one pair of socks with your boots, be sure to order one size larger than your actual foot size as they do fit snug. Bob Hicks
I had never seen, heard of, or worn a pair of Baffin boots. After looking them up, it appears they make a really good boot - a minus 145 is impressive. However, at $200 plus for a pair of Baffin vs. $60 or less for the Military Extreme Cold Weather I'd still go with the bunny boots. But then, I don't plan on ice fishing at a minus 145 degrees F if you know what I mean. But if you REALLY want the best, I guess the Baffin might be the one to get.Life is good. Bjjams
Baffin does make a good boot. I got a pair of the Eigen a couple years ago and I really like them. They area basically like the Impacts but shorter. Was out ice fishing in -25 this year and the only thing not cold was my feet. They're fairly light weight too. I don't like to wear them if the temps are above freezing as my feet get too hot.
