Driving on the ice

I was out on the lake fishing yesterday and was thinking to myself... why do people feel the need todrive 30 mph across the lake with their vehicles? When I was driving off last night there was a Truck that was almost across the lake from me and still beat me to the landing. Maybe it is just me, but is it really necessary?

Nope.

A lot of people just see the ice as a hard, flat surface and nothing else. Getting everyone to slow down is like trying to keep that first horizontal surface inside the garage from accumulating junk. You know you shouldn't - but you do anyway.

Unless they're driving right by my shack it doesn't personally bother or concern me really. Maybe guys are just in a hurry to get back to the wife ;-)

I think that it can cause a wave effect under the ice that could cause trouble.

That's what I mean... when you are in your house and a vehicle drives slowly by it still makes the water in your holes move
