No motorized vehicles past this point

They have to start throwing the book at them. Automatic loss of the ATV, plus a fine.

The majority of Minnesota is open for ATV's, much of the state has so few areas for hunters who want to walk in.

Sitting in a stand and watching a ATV go past or seeing before season people hauling mega junk into the woods before season on a ATV where they were not suppose to.

Call TIP.

Can you point out all these areas that are open for ATV's? Because as far as I know, there are very few trails in MN for ATV's

It's kind of on the same level as the jet ski's in the summer. They are not suppose to be on the lake before 9 am. but I can be out there fishing on a nice warm quiet morning at 7:30 am. and here they come. I am the only boat on the lake but that is where they have to ride these f$%^ing things. So as with the ATV'S DEAL WITH IT!!!!!

Many start on the LEGAL trails,FEW stay on them!! no peaceful woods left in the state anymore!

I think you need to take a better look there. I see like 4 trails open to ATV. The SOO line is like one long trail, but you cant leave the main trail. So sure it maybe 100 miles long, but it is only 15 feet wide. There are a couple other smaller trails in the state, but most are 3 miles, 5 miles, 7 miles.

Minnesota has about the least amount of public atv areas to ride in most of the upper midwest. Wisconsin has more ATV trails in almost any given northern county, then MN does throughout the entire state.

If you are seeing atv's off trails, report them. But to say the state has trails all over, you are far from the truth.

There are also many forest roads that are open to them. Because one is lazy or they saw someone else do it does not make it right! I own and use an ATV myself, but tend to follow the rules and walk to my hunting spots parking at the designated places. So I agree with Original Post.

I deer hunt in NW Wisconsin and there are very few ATV trails where I hunt. Mostly county land so it could be different on other lands. I actually was pulled over by a co for crossing an asphalt road. In NW Minnesota where I live there are a lot of trails open to ATVs on state land, mostly due to the fact that polaris and arctic cat are in the area. To see a razor going down the hwy at 60 is a pretty average occurance.

It is legal to use a AtV

During deer hunting under restricted rules and on most state forest lands depending on its classification you can retrieve your deer also.

This is one time it pays to read all the rules and regs. Page 110 in the hunring trapping regs will shed a bit of info

Much of the talk started about trails that say no-motorized vechiles and people just go around the gated trail. apparently laws and rules only apply to everybody else.

That is one of the reasons we stopped hunting the Paul Bunyon. It use to only have snowmobile trails and logging roads. Now there is a trail for every kind of vehicle all over it. frown

Nemadji state forest is where I was hunting till there were no more quite places.I also quit going there!

Loggers I knew would cut in new roads to cut and remove trees they bought,Next season the roads were impassable from ATV,s tearing them up.That cost them $$$ To repair evey logging season.

On roads yes not trails. That's the discussion
No, that is where you are wrong. If you read the rules and regs carefully hunters and trappers are the ones that can use them on roads trails and off the trails depending on the classification of the roads during restricted times.

This is out of the regs book page 111 and I may have posted the wrong page last time.
