License question

Recommended Posts

Do I need to buy a slug license if I want to go just sit with my wife for slug hunting? Already filled my tag on a buck with my bow. Would it be considered illegally "aiding her in the field" if I didn't have a license. Just wondering if I have to spend the $ or not.

When I called and asked this question a few years ago, I was told if you were helping in the taking of a game animal in any way it required you having a license.

So if you happen to see an animal, tap the other person on the shoulder and point, it would be considered assisting. Basically it doesn't matter what we think would be consider assisting, it's what the person in the green pants asking the questions thinks. For that reason I purchased a license.

They can think anything they want to, It's what they can prove when the citation gets to court that matters.

I am not sure what question you would ask a CO. Don't hold the loaded gun, and don't walk around in circles to move deer to her. Its really not rocket science, and its not the soviet union. Its not right to live in fear if you are not doing something wrong. So, by chain of events, if your children hunt, technically it was your creating them that allows them to hunt or fish, so technically you assisted them to do so-NOT! Do not let paranoia ruin your life! Sit and watch, no license. Tag along and help a little, buy the tag.

I wouldn't buy a license in that regard either. Technically helping someone drag out the deer is illegal as well, but I think a warden would have to be holding a grudge about something to give a ticket in that regard. I really wouldn't worry about buying the license if you are just going to sit with her, heck, take a camera and say that you were just there to video tape it.
