Wow gahld, nice! Here's a my daily double. #40 & #41 for the year, both beautiful mature birds. Had to push 3 fields before I saw a rooster, LOTS of hens so hopefully next year should be great in this area. Haven't officially measured the tail yet, but it's about 1" longer than the 24" barrel on my Beretta so it should be another pb!

Ended the season on a high note...got my biggest bird of the year (and last one) in the cold temps. Great dog work and shooting was a plus today.

Saw a ton of birds. Hope mother nature is good to them this spring.

What could be my last bird of the year, & also my biggest at 26 3/4"! Pretty cool story on this guy. I had jumped a few birds out of some tall weeds & dumped one. I knew he went down dead but for some reason I couldn't find him. After searching the area for about 30 mins this guy finally decided to bust. I had been walking circles all around him the whole time. Amazing how hard these birds will hold sometimes. Thankfully ended up finding the other bird too, he had fell under a big sage brush that was covered in snow. Tomorrows the last day, hopefully I can find an hr or 2 to get out.

was 23 5/8".

Fishuhalik....you got a 26 inch plus! - thats a "boomer". That is a trophy bird.

In my book and experience, if you crack 24", you got a mature bird, older bird.

Since 2004, I have over 200 birds that I have harvested from MN, SD and ND.

I have only broke 24" two times.

Again...great bird!

Some late season birds, the first right before Christmas. 24 7/8" tail. Second was from the New Years day. Not a bad year this year, saw plenty of hens and roosters, hopefully the weather cooperates and we have a good spring. Its a long wait till October.
