This is the only pick I got from inside the house this weekend.

I changed things up between the two days. Saturday I used bright decoys with the cloudy water and saw a few fish, but more walleys than pike. Sunday I used more natural or neutral colored decoys, the 4" sunfish 2-3' under the ice, and the 11" northern 4-5' down. Definate improvement on the number of fish seen. Swim the sunfish erradic for a bit, then twich the northern and fish would come in and charge/attack the northern. The fish in the picture actually attacked the sunfish first when I was swimming it, then went after the northern several times. It was very fun to watch.

Things I took away from this weekend:

-There are some HUGE walleyes in winnibigosh. I know there is a protected slot on the lake, but the fish I saw and time of day I saw them lead me to think I am fishing way to deep when fishing walleys.

-Honda 4wheelers and -35degree temps dont mix well. But with the addition of a sunflower heater cooker and a blanket or jacket they will start.

-If you have the chance to go to one of these events, GO!! You wont be dissapointed.

MJ, I'm usually still trying to kill a deer somewhere the first week in December. One of these times I'll make it work though!
