Bear55
Yep, we traded Koivu and Heater for a 2nd backup goalie. Moulson can center the 2nd line and play wing at the same time.

Bummer...we should have thrown Brodz in there too and all the dead weight would be gone. I can taste the milk already!!!! Go Wild!!!! And here I'd thought we could move past that silliness. I'm a little bummed that the Stafford thing didn't happen though. Sounded like it was going to be complicated to get done though with the cap restrictions. Anyone care to venture a guess at what the new lines will be? Bear55
Sounds like we gave up a 2nd this year and a 2nd in 2016 so not too bad of a price. Have to think Moulson will be playing with Koivu and some combination of Coyle/Heatley/Nino.
10,000 Casts
Well it looks like Mitchell will get a boost in the line up to top 6 status.. I love this deal, not only do we get a goal scorer that should thrive with Koivu and Neiderieter but we get McCormick too. Now Stoner won't be the only tough guy on the team.. I just hope we don't scratch him every game..The All Star sgould be banished to the 3rd line now... I hope!
PierBridge
Yeah I don't know much about McCormick but it sounds like he's a banger bruiser dude. So two second round picks spread apart that works for me
ted4887
I don't think that's a bad deal at all, considering we freed ourselves of a 2.5mil cap hit that Mitchell was going to cost us next year.Parise-Granlund-PominvilleMoulson-Koivu-HeatleyCooke - Coyle - NinoFontaine - Brodziak - McCormickShoot, I don't know. Should be interesting to see what the actual lines are on Sunday.

Bear55
All I gotta say is "way to go Chuck!!!".....but Yeo's head must be spinning right now. After all those years with Risebrough its hard not to have a giant man crush on Fletcher right now.
CaptainMusky
I think its worth posting that roster again from that previous post. Man what a change.
muskiemanAD
Great deal made by Fletcher....That 3rd line is pretty solid, not some checking line but actual scorers...
archerystud
Great move. I've been hoping the Wild would land a more gritty scorer and they did. I actually think this team needs a banger in front of the net more than Vanek. Well we get to do a test drive this year and if it doesn't work out then potentially go after Vanek. And it is nice to be rid of Mitchell's salary.
RK
Man what a crazy day yesterday... ton of trades. Some really interesting ones, some total head-scratchers.Love bringing Moulson and McCormick in, especially since it didn't cost us high picks or prospects. We were pretty thin at LW past Parise, an that's Moulson's natural position. Also nice they got Mitchell off the book for next year, plus just nice to give the guy a chance at a fresh start, since he was pretty clearly going to buried on the 4th line here. I think to begin with the Wild had 9 picks in what is apparently a very weak draft year. So to bring in 3 quality players and only give up some mid-round picks and a role player is a pretty solid return.League-wide some interesting moves for sure. Man how'd you like to be a Canucks or Islanders fan today? End result for the Isles is they gave up Vanek for something called Sebastian Collberg (supposedly #6 or so on the Habs prospect depth) and a second round pick? Yeesh. Compare that to Buffalo, who eventually ended up with a 1st round and 3 second round picks for the roster spot Vanek/Moulson once held down. I think at one point yesterday Garth Snow actually traded a player for 5 magic beans... Oh - and your team is moving to Brooklyn too. Have to feel for Isles fans... bbfenatic
Snow must have something over on Mr. Wang out there in Islander country....otherwise there is no way an owner would keep a GM like that around....miscue after miscue....real head-scratcher out there and will that Islander history you'd think Wang could tap into some very deep hockey knowledge.....too bad really. bbfenatic
Interesting Stat: If you ranked all the teams in the Western Conference by weight of the defensemen and gave the #1 ranking to the team with the heaviest overall weight and on down. They'd look exactly like the standings are today #1 - #8.....pure coincidence...maybe.
10,000 Casts
My head scratcher of the day was a washed up 39 year old Tim Thomas to Dallas for a never will be Dan Ellis? I guess Dallas thinks that a better back up will keep them in the playoff picture and FLA just doesn't care anymore..

CaptainMusky
Hey Bear, there were 4 forwards on the 4th line. Bench minor. :-)I too think Haula should be swapped for Brodz.
