First of the year?

[Crappie Rage]

Headed down to KS for the annual youth hunt with my son, my brother and his daughter. My favorite hunt of the year.

But the weatherman threw a nasty double curving, sliding knuckleball. High temps over 95 and lows around 70. Not condusive to deer movement.

My son and I did not even see a deer. We did get to spit on a group of raccoons from the stand.

Sunday night was the first sighting of a doe and fawn. But Monday morning we hit paydirt. My niece harvested her first antlered buck with a perfect 40 yard shot to the lungs. 50 yard run of death. A great photo as well!
