Remember when the first Nascar race was nationally televised? A fight broke out and since then it has become a darling on broadcast television.

I think the only negative that could come out of this is if Bowyer wins.

I think that may have helped

But the real thing that bought NASCAR to everyones attention was

espn when they started televising races on a regular basis the all the calbe channels started biding them and then fox come and out bid every one

I remember being very upset because they showed alot of races on FX

and i didnt have it

I think that fight may have bought a few but dont believe it was what bought nascar to thre for-front

After thorough consideration, NAPA has made the difficult decision to end its sponsorship arrangement with Michael Waltrip Racing effective December 31, 2013. NAPA believes in fair play and does not condone actions such as those that led to the penalties assessed by NASCAR. We remain supportive of the millions of NASCAR fans and will evaluate our future position in motorsports.

With any luck 5-hr Energy and Aarons will pull their sponsorship and leave Mikey with nothing but his wife. Oh, that's right, she got sick of his garbage and already split a while ago. Wonder if he cheated on her, too.

Well, looks like Mikey is not done. Still don't know about Truex. Have read that Mikey said he can go if he wants, and looks like the 78 is the best ride left???? Don't know if he is good enough to drive that car as loose as Kurt did this year though....Wow....he sure does have "great teammates" wink

From 5-hour ENERGY Facebook page:

Quote:
This week the 5-hour ENERGY team met after the New Hampshire race to discuss our future with Michael Waltrip Racing. While our original plan was to announce the status of our sponsorship at the end of the year, this timeframe left many concerned about their future. There are scores of passionate fans, numerous charitable organizations, and hundreds of hard-working MWR employees and their families who are directly impacted by 5-hour ENERGYs NASCAR sponsorship. After several internal discussions and meetings with MWR, we are prepared to announce our decision ahead of schedule. 5-hour ENERGY will be back as a sponsor of MWR and Clint Bowyer for 2014. We look forward to another great year of competitive racing. Go 15! (9-27-2013)

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — The Associated Press has learned that Michael Waltrip Racing will run only two full-time cars next season because of the loss of sponsor NAPA.

Team owners Michael Waltrip and Rob Kauffman on Monday began telling employees of their decision. Those affected were told they are free to begin looking for a new job immediately.

Two employees spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because MWR had not publicly announced its decision. The team owners had a Monday afternoon meeting scheduled to go over organizational changes, which will include running the car currently driven by Martin Truex Jr. on a partial schedule.
