How big is this bear?

OK bear gurus, how big is this bear? I'm not experienced with bear at all, so I'd love to hear from some guys who know their stuff. For reference, the barrel is a standard 55 gallon drum (I'm pretty sure it is anyway...)

A standard 55 gallon drum is about 24 inches in diameter and 34 1/2 inches tall....So, based on that I would guess that the bear is about 2 1/2 feet tall (30 inches)...and about 4 1/2 to 5 feet long....he's fat & broad, but his head & ears indicate he's a relatively young bear...I'd guess him at 3 years old and around 300 pounds...Hopefully you can get him to come in before dark so we can find out for sure!

I would guess in the lower to mid 200's. Shooter for most people, unless you have something bigger coming in on another bait and have some time to roll the dice.

He should be around that 240-280 dressed out. Looks about like the two I have killed and were both in that general size.

Its a shooter, just hope he comes in the daytime is the trick around here it seems.

I would say 200. Short on length an short on height. The belly is missleading, its fat for its size make it look bigger than it is. But I'd pop tha sucker in the freezer n a heart beat.n best eatin right there. Cant go wrong scoot. If u get a chance I'd take it.

Thanks guys! The landowner described it as a "decent bear". He said there's a bigger one somewhere in the general area, but it's definitely not been on the bait to this point. Hopefully the guy in the pics or another of equal or bigger size will show up when I can fling an arrow. My timeline isn't too good with limited opportunities to sit, so I'm hopeful for cooler than forecasted weather and an appearance from a bear before dark this coming weekend. I'll have Sun, Mon, and Wed to sit. After that, I'm not sure when I'll sit next.

He is decent but no way he is 300#. His body is too short and head is too slender. A 300# bear will be over 6' with a short snout. Once a bore hits 300# their appearance really changes. I would guess 240#.

I'd guess around 225. Nice and chubby, but to me, it doesn't look to have the length to hit the 300# mark. Unless your picky, he's a shooter.
