Ely area still has leeches available by the pound!!

We have been informed by our customers from the Mpls/St. Paul area that bait shops down there are telling their customers that no one has leeches, anywhere.

Shops in the Ely area are still selling them by the pound, and should continue to do so for at least another two weeks, maybe longer.

On any normal year, bait shops in northern Minnesota will have leeches long after metro area shops run out.

I think it might vary in the metro area. I bought some leeches on last Thurday evening from one bait store, then on Sunday went to a different one and they said they have been out for a week. I will be stopping at the first bait store tomorrow to see if they still do tomorrow before heading out.

I'd tell the forum that we got another 125 pounds of leeches today while most shops have none, but that would be gloating so I won't do it!!
