Which rain gear for summer?

I been using a cheap gas station poncho for about 5yrs now lol.I'm looking to spend some money on a rain suit that won't heat up to bad in the summer when I'm fishing.I am no expert at fishing in rainy conditions or at fishing but Before I blow my money I thought I would get some opinions.What should I get guys?

I have a pair of Cabelas Gore-Tex rain pants and a Columbia Omni-Tech rain jacket. I paid $70 and ~$30 for them, respectively. You don't need to drop $300 on rain gear if you are willing to wait for a good deal to come around.

Pretty tough to beat Cabelas Guide Wear, have owned alot of brands and these are the only ones to last...

In the summer you will want the non lined versions of rain gear. Marmot Precept are nice and light weight, but good. REI has their anniversary sale going on right now.

Just picked up the Cabelas Guide Wear for my trip to Canada next week, I got the Extreme one little heavier then i would like but i really liked the neoprene cuffs, keeps water from running down your arm and getting everything soaked while casting. Hope it keeps me dry for the money i paid. Cabelas had them on sale when I was there, saved me $150 or more.

My HH suit lasted 2-3 years. I'll be looking at guide wear this year.

The crotch area of the HH Bibs, the rubber wore out, leaving you wet in a not so fun area Otherwise the suit has been great, but for the $140 i think i paid for it, i'd rather spend double and get a longer lasting suit.

had my hh for three years use it to ride in and camp and fish and have had no problems love the bibs. Bibs are a must

Simms. It will outlast the rest and packs down to nothing. Period.

I don't have the rubber HH, It is similar material as Guidewear. I have owned it for 17 years, only wear it a couple times a year now, was a lot more when I first got it (boat has a top now). Have not had any issues with them.

I have both the Clam blue suit and Cabella's Guide series. Both are great suits and both will keep you warm and dry for the summer. Not quite as packable as some of the really thin units but these will take care of 90 percent of the year summer and winter included. if I had to choose just one suit. Probably be the clam blue suit because it is a little more winter friendly. Now granted if it is 90 degrees out I will not be wearing these suits I have a pair of Gortex pants and jacket for that, but that is such a small percentage of the year I don't really take that into consideration when purchasing a quality set of raingear.
