JBMasterAngler
How far are you willing to drive? Any species in particular? I know a couple nice campgrounds in the Grand Marais area where you can do good for either smallies/walleyes or stream trout right from your camping spot, or nearby dock. amateurfishing
depending on your version of "camping"i was looking for car camping last week, looked into whitewater sp, always heard awesome reviews regarding it, can trout fish from shore, appeared to have decent vacancy at times, online pictures look great

delcecchi
Only way to fish in the whitewater area is from shore or up to knees in stream. It is a trout stream and not that big. It is amazing how many trout can be in a little stream through a pasture, stream is like 20 feet wide. There are also some other campgrounds in SE MN. Forestville state park and some private ones are worth considering. Many have shore type fishing. Even Mac's park place on the Zumbro. Great smallies and even some muskies. Check them out. workin4bait
Many State Parks have shore fishing spots and fishing piers. The problem is time of year and defining "good shore fishing spots". We are going to Sakatah State Park for the first time this summer,it looks promising for good shore fishing, but I also will be bring the boat along.workin'
