Thanks for the heads up. I will have to check it out one of these nights. I remember that one from the late 90's. Hale Bop? That was really cool. Not cool enough to put on a old pair of Nikes and kill myself, but still pretty cool.

this comet is going straight to h.e.l.l, so don't catch a ride anybody. laugh

You're right. Comet ISON is coming this fall and is supposed to be much brighter. The northern lights were supposed to be off the charts last night but of course it was cloudy mad

I saw s clip from St Cloud on the weather channel that was so vibrant and had so much red in it, I questioned whether it was truly from saint cloud or not?

I didn't even know there was an event going on... hadn't checked the NOAA space weather page in a week or so.

Lame!

Some are predicting ISON to be as bright as the moon when it comes this fall. I hope they're right, that would be a cool thing to see.

Maybe. The problem is if it get's that bright it will also likely be burned up by the sun. Most likely though it will just be highly visible in the twilight hours.

I noticed it last night around 7:25 and was clearly visible until about 7:50 to the naked eye. Im gona start peakin here again in about 10 or 15 min.

last night it was about 2finger widths above the horizon right above the sun(under the horizon)

ps: that's in Elk River
