Magnarson
My luck is questionable. Found a dead yearling on the road next to my private property this AM. Im tempted to pull it in 75yards to my favorite area. Wow...the temptation is strong. Especially because its so close. I pussed out and left it there. Still wondering... maros91
Call your local Sheriff's office or PD. They both issue permits for road kill deer.
Magnarson
Cool...thanks Truth. Its like the Yote gods have smiled on me. Sure hope its there in the morning. Cant imagine the local Road Work guys have pulled it off the road yet. getting to it first thing in the morning. That would be so cool to actually hunt over a deer kill. wanna/gonna put two trail cams on it too. Wonder how long it will take for the crows and coyotes to find it? TruthWalleyes
Toss it in the ditch for now. Ask the sheriff to give you a call for the next roadkill deer they come across, they might help you out in the future.
erikwells
I found a slough this weekend where either the county road crew or the property owners near by drop roadkill deer carcasses on the ice. I sat 1/4 mile from the carcasses in slough grass calling Friday evening. I had examined the carcasses before and there are plenty of coyotes visiting them. Maybe I have some unrealistic expectations but I've hunted the spot 2 times now and had thought I would have seen or heard one by now. Is it possible my calling (I use a mouth call rabbit distress)is that bad? No worries with me out there hunting your coyotes are safe. Magnarson
Think its illegal to hunt over. Its harder to get that answer than you think. Besides I seem to be better at picture taking than shooting.
