whoa, I thought I was going nuts until I realized I was in the open water forum. Why do they wait for a foot of ice before putting ice fishing on top, but as soon as it gets above 32 its open water?

As soon as the snow melts off the lakes the ice will go really fast. I give it two weeks til people are launching boats. Maybe sooner if we get some rain!
