Track?

MUSKY18

Recommended Posts

Was hunting this morning and found these tracks following the deer tracks along a field edge. I think they are way to big for a hunting dog. I am assuming a coyote cause of the imprint of the claws? Although large, I don't see it being a wolf track? Correct?

They were pretty much in a straight line. Not like a dog that was out looking for pheasants. I don't think it was quite as large as the wolf track shown, but it was darn good size. Still leads me to believe it was a yote. This was about 6 miles west of Long Prairie in central MN. Pretty sure the nearest wolves are over on Ripley, but after seeing the tracking data they compiled and how far wolves will roam who knows.......

They're definitely closer than that, they've been seen lots of times no more than 10 miles East of town.

You must have been hunting pretty close to my place Bret.

Rod........these tracks I found hunting Santer WMA

I'd say Musky18 Ripley ? They are enroute much closer than that Bertha,Henning, Clarissa area wolves occasional loner spotted near Browerville, they are coming straight down the pipe meaning HWY 71 South. The gaggle of them in the Wadena/Ottertail county area moved heavy into northern Todd, they are establishing somewhat on HWY 210 from Staples to Henning, they're on their way, your turn for awhile lol. My 0-14 deer hunting uncles want a break from em in OT county.
