laker1: What's the process? They just swing by the property and check the woods for feeders based on hearsay? AFAIK there's 1 game warden that covers like 8 counties up there or something ridiculous like that. I guess the main reason I am hesitant to report it is because the neighbor who told me about it is on property that directly borders the feeder guys.

The neighbor is kitty corner to our 40, and behind them is a 40 acre piece of potlatch land. behind the potlatch is 40 acre piece where the feeder guys have a shack and their stands w/feeders.

Just like anything you weight the factors and how good is your source, each case is different.

Well, this guy really has no reason to lie to me about a neighbor having feeders. That being said, since I didn't witness it firsthand, it's not really something I feel comfortable calling in. HOWEVER.. If they just check and don't find anything, there's no harm, in theory, right?

We hunt just north of Chisholm. Our Party of 6 seen and shot 4 in the first 3 days of season. 2 spikes, a nice doe and a button buck. It was slow. Not much buck activity on opening weekend. I am heading up for the weekend as My tag is still open hopefully I will have some luck. I will be able to hunt friday afternoon thru the end of the season.

In 108 we went 5 for 7 so far. One was a nice 8 pt and the others were kind of weird 5 points. Two didn't have any brow tines. A couple of uncles and a cousin in law are still hunting. We heard very little shooting early this season. The deer are really starting to run now and our guys have been seeing more bucks during the day. We've had a few cameras out during the season and most of the bucks have been moving at night. One monster 12 point showed up the other day. Clear nights and a big bright full moon didn't help on the opener. One interesting thing is that the wolves we saw on camera have disappeared.

Just clarifying, you guys shot four 5 pointers? That seems odd to have gotten that many with exactly 5 points. Just a very odd coincidence I guess.

Yes we had 4 bucks that were 5 pointers. Their weights ranged from 125 to 155 pounds. Weird coincidence but we hunt a huge area and have stands spread out all over. We have some really nice bucks on camera that baring a bad winter, should be dandy's next year. Plus more spikes and forks.

Zone 178. Bowhunting myself in Otober 5 days saw 5 deer, missed a doe and let a spiker go. Just back from 3 days in 178, saw 1 deer for 4 guys nothing harvested. During October, lots of deer around on fields at night. In November lots of scrapes, rubs, and other sign so they have been around, we just weren't seeing them.

Hunted 179 opening weekend. Saw three deer and took a spiker. Party of 5 took my spiker, 1 doe, and a 5 pointer, only 5 deer seen over 4 days. Same party minus me just hunted 179 last weekend saw 3 deer, harvested none.

West of us in 179 on opener party of 4 took 3 eight poinetrs and a 6 pointer and saw a dozen deer.

Well last weekend we added exactly 0 deer sighting to our total. Maybe 10 shots hear in total all weekend. Pretty dang slow. Seems that based on sightings more nighttime movement and locked down during the daylight hours.

I'd have let those 5 pointers become the seed and dust those spikes/forks to have even better 2.5 year olds around next season. Show us a picture of those 5pointers, that would be cool to see ! smile We need some weather guys, as soon as it moderated some nocturnal city, what has happened to our November weather, a year ago today we got 11.5" of snow and by thanksgiving it was all gone and we never really got any more, I swept the sidewalk 3x last winter, whats up, LQP geese arriving a month later than they used to, I don't know. Other than deer drives most saw 0 in my zone 1 area this last weekend.

The only pics I have are the deer hanging up, and those are verboten here.

There is usually a reason the deer left are still alive. They smarten up fast.

Awesome and a bummer all in one grin Hunted 182.

My 10 year old son missed his only chance on a deer, grazing belly hair on a mature doe on opening Sunday morning cry We never saw another deer together the rest of the season.

I decided to take a vaca day last friday to sit in a different stand and was rewarded with a 210# 8 pointer at 2:30. He came right down his scrape trail and went down at 30 yards with a 12 guage slug.
