Beefing up suspension in GMC Yukon

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have recommendations for beefing up the suspension in my Yukon. Seems to sag pretty low when hauling a larger boat or trailer. I have seen some bags that go inside springs, air shocks, etc. Wondering what is a an effective solution?

I put some Trimbren SOSpension (spelled something like that) in my k1500 and it really helped for when loads are heavy. Problem is my springs are shot, but with the Timbren it doesn't look or ride bad when you have aload, but when light it is really stiff - I need new springs.

I installed them myself with hand and air tools. About $200 shipped. I put a review in here a few years ago I think, if you want to search for it. Good luck.

I installed the ride rite air bags on my F150 when I bought my 5th wheel camper. Turned out I didn't even really need them. I have used them when hauling wood or other large loads. What I like about these is that if you don't need them at the time just let most of the air out. Ride is pretty stiff if you leave them aired up without a load.

You could also try a set of load leveler shocks. They will be a replacement shock with a coil spring attached. I just installed a set a month ago on a Yukon that was sagging when pulling his fiberglass boat. The truck was level after the install and the customer was extremely happy.
