Gordie
I have pulled quite a few tomatoes off the vines the last day or two and so I picked a habenero that was so close to being rip and I roasted a few chilles that I got out of the garden two days ago. I pulled a couple of onions a bit early and a couple of bell peppers AND Yep made a small batch of SALSA and its cooling down now, well cooling off I think I added a bit to much habenero but I like it hot so well see what we end up with. I had a half pack of chilli seasonings so I made it with that. I love this time of year and when the garden starts give up its boundys.10-12 tomatoes blanched and peeled1 bell pepper chopped up2 small white onions chopped up1/2 of a habenero diced up8-10 roasted Green chilles2 teaspoons odf chilli seasoningpinch of oinion saltpinch of garlic powder1/8th cup sugarmix all in pot and simmer for 20 minmakes around 1-1/2 qts Let cool enjoy. Dark Cloud
sounds great! I like to grill everything, let it cool a tad and throw it in the blender, pour it out and attack with chips while still warm...
lispeej
Sounds yummy! I like that! I make a very similar salsa to that too.

Dark Cloud
I always strain my salsa and save the liquid - it makes awesome soup base or braising liquid... Poach walleyes in it and serve over rice...

It also makes a great spicy bloodymary mix. I too love the eyes poached in the tomato type base.
