Undermount sink in laminate

Any lam. countertop fabricators out there? I'm doing a lam countertop for a customer and cannot find a undermount sink that will work for laminate. I'm finding alot that will work for solid surface but not lam. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

I've seen a few laminate countertops with undermount sinks. They've all had a rubber band, specifically designed for undermounts in laminate, running around the perimeter of the cutout instead of laminate. They actually looked very nice and didn't seem to have any issues. And from what I can tell they are the same sink as the granite/solid surface.

Archery sniper, couldn't agree more, I try to talk people out of them and have lost their business as a result. The ones I have seen have the rubber ring around them with a cut-out template like Caman described but I don't know where to get one.

I have done one we used normal Formica sheet stock . Found out the hard way that you have to use the HD product because it is thicker. When you lay up the sink you use pretty much the same glue as when you build up solid surface material and you can see the glue thru the top of the laminate. The customer couldn't see it but me and the boss man could . We got everything from holdahl in Plymouth they can set you up.

In my business we tried the undermount sinks from Karran using the Counter Seal rings being we only build custom laminate tops and don't deal with the post formed tops and I came to the decision that I will not offer them. I had the Formica rep train my fabricator and we did a few demo tops and personally, for the cost and the process that we need to go through to do them properly I don't feel it is worth it.

For the added cost that we need to charge to fabricate them I feel it is a better option to sell them solid surface and if they really want laminate and undermount sinks i will let them go somewhere else and not worry about callbacks and remorse in the future.

Here are a few videos if you are using post form tops and want to take it on.

They are from Counter Seal and you can get them from any Formica or Wilsonart distributor. Holdahl has them and I believe Oharco has them.
