Iphone4g as a telephone!???

Ufatz

Question

Okay, okay.....I'll buy into all the zip,, whiz-bang, magic stuff about the new Iphone BUT BUT.....how is it as a TELEPHONE? I need something to get weather as I travel and only getting to the web can do that....so I guess I buy an Iphone4.

But last time bought a whiz-bang phone (the LG Shine) it was a joke as a telephone......you couldn't hear anybody! LOL

So...what do you folks think of the Iphone4 as a TELEPHONE?

Okay. Good. Thanks. I did not mean to imply that people buying those devices are stupid.....just that it would be stupid for me.

Jeeezzee...at my age I can't be laying out $80 for a LifeLine or whatever. At my age I don't even buy a full dozen eggs! Ha!

Haha! good point! I got mine for $60. I went through about 5 phones dating back to the 90's and never a problem with dunking one. But after dunking my first iphone, and seeing my bros cracked screen, and others too, I decided I would rather pay up front and keep from repair... That is what is cool, there are options, and options are optional smile

Do buy the Navions apps though, worth the $10 ($15 with canada) even if just to sit on couch and look at lakes and dream of where the lunkers might hang out wink

I love my otterbox. Just got the 4s a couple of weeks ago and I love it. My only complaint is that it seems to be interfering with my i-pilot. It's making the internal gps/compass go whacko, and after 5-10 seconds on a heading with the advanced autopilot it spins until the cord is too wrapped up, and the same for the spot-lock feature. Other than that, I love not having to scroll through the phone while driving (too much like texting if you ask me). The extra 100 bucks for the 4s over the 4 was worth it for me. But I'm definitely getting this interference junk figured out, whether its an app running, phone too close to the receiver, or something else!

I still use my Navionics app from my iphone on the boat, even though I have a Hummingbird. I use it to quickly look ahead on the lake since I can scroll around so much faster on it. That way I can keep my Hummingbird screen zoomed in farther and still be able to figure out what bay I am heading towards (larger lakes).

I have Navionics Lakes and Maps US/Canada.

Which brings up a point, I wish Humminbird had the look ahead feature that Lowrance has!!

I also have the same app on my phone and iPad.it is awesome on the iPad!

Yah by golly, thanks to all who posted comments about the Iphone4s. I have had it for three days now and learn more every day. It is TRULY and amazing piece of technology. I mean....I DICTATE my outgoing emails!!! Holy Moly Oly! I spent DECADES dictating into one machine or another. LOL.

I almost feel sorry for people who don't have one of these things.

Okay, now back to the guys who hijacked the thread with their boating stuff. Ha Ha Ha!
