Still some good guys out there...

My 12 year old neighbor kid loves to fish. Wanted to catch a musky in the worst way. Last year I got home from work one night to find him standing on a pail practicing figure 8's in a kiddy pool. I've had him out a bunch of times - even kept him out til midnight last Monday. Needless to say we just couldn't get him on a fish.

Last Thursday he picked a better guide - his Grandpa took him trolling and he tied into a nice musky. That's about the time grandpa realized they forgot the net. Some guys tossing big baits for toothies nearby saw the action and helped him net the fish, showed him how to hold it, measured it on a bump board, and showed him how to release it properly.

So, to whomever was out on BE last Thursday and helped a kid and his disabled grandpa with his first musky you did a good thing and it made a big impression on one member of the future of our sport. Thank you.
