Lure retreivers?

But IMO..Losing 4 cranks is a typical weekend.

Yeah I agree, 4 cranks is just the cost of doing business sometimes. Personally I don't get too attached to lures. Personally it drives me crazy when the friend I'm fishing with wants to spend 30 minutes to save a $3 lure when our fishing time is short as it is.

I've even seen one of my uncles take his boat into a shallow area with exposed rocks all over the place to retrieve a 50 cent bobber that he had lost.

Sometimes just accepting the loss is the best course. Also after you lose 2 or 3 cranks in a particular area it may be time to switch up tactics or move to a different spot. Cranks might be the ticket but they aren't going to catch anything if you are constantly snagged.

With that said I've seen people use spark plugs hooked on the line in an attempt to retrieve lures. Occasionally it works, often times you end up with a snagged lure and a snagged spark plug.

I have 2. One is an extendable aluminum pole with a plastic end that you put the line through works to about 15' the other is a weight with some chain like gizmos that catch the lures hooks. Both work with the rod being the most used.

If I recall correctly both came from BPS.
