Any idea how to stop squirrells from digging in my potted peppers ?

I have a plan involving an extension cord , an air bag from a car and a bucket of walnuts but this maybe over kill, Plus im not sure its just one rodent. or if i'd get the same one. thats rooting through my plants.

I do know that when I dumped them out and put fresh soil in them this spring one was full of walnuts. i'm sure he is looking for them.

I not sure planting a nut is a good thing either.

The little bastard will probally think he struck gold and come back for seconds ! lol grin

You could try one of those fake plastic owls like they use on docks to keep the gulls away? Just wire it up so that when a squirrel touches the pot, the owl jumps off it's perch and starts swinging a baseball bat! Easy fix, they have a kit for that. crazy

I would vote pellet gun. The flat tip pellets always were the most accurate for me. If you hit them in the head, it won't matter what pellet you use. Quick and easy.

BTW - My neighbor tried the owl thing. It didn't work.

I have #3 hanging from my tree and it is a hoot! Very funny to watch.

1. Big dog

2. .22 Remmington

3. If 1 or 2 isn't an option, hang a cob of corn off a tree limb via a bungee cord. They'll go for it and it's fun to watch.
