Fish Identification

I need help identifying these two fish. The minnow was 6-7 inches long and hit hard for its size. Both caught on the MN River.

Silver Chub and Silver Redhorse

Thanks for posting where you caught them too it makes it easier.

The Redhorse pic is tougher without having the dorsal fin up to see easily. The lips make the ID on them easier also.

Have you guys tried to silver chub for bait ever? They seemed tougher than the typical white sucker which I use a lot for catfish, they seem to basically turn into dead bait after 5-10 minutes.

Never tried silvers, but I love creek chub at certain times throughout the year. They're pretty finicky on water quality/o2 levels though - kind of a challenge to keep alive as a shore fisherman.

and then when using his ultralight rod for them, he'd play up the fight, and wade into the water saying he had no choice but to get dragged into the currents to fight the fish

Hey, it's just like the history channel...If there isn't any evidence that the chubs didn't drag the two boys under in 1962 then there is plenty of B.S. to make an hour long show out of it...after all, you can't prove that the chubs didn't lose their normal diet and resort to eating people!

What about the story of the fish that nibbled on someone's balls?!?
