Don't attract bugs?!?

Putting LED's in my boat to light up the boat and don't want to attract bugs...what colors don't attract them darn bugs!

Generally bugs are attracted to shorter wavelength lights. Yellow is generally considered to be a good color, as it offers a good combination of light output while not attracting bugs. Longer wavelengths like red and orange would also work, though you will get less light output.

I put a red LED trailer side light in my boat. I think it would be considered a running light since it is long and skinny. Very bright and worth the $24 dollars. Red won't affect you eyesight at night, and it just looks cool. I also use blue neon lights like you would find on the interior of a car. Plenty of light with barely any draw from the battery. The neons make glow jigs glow brighter.

Thought i'd post my results.

I went with 2 16' LED strips in Yellow.

Bugs are not attracted and the light has been very helpful when fishing at night.

Truth, all you need is a Sub box with Amp and you'll be the hit of the lake.
