Trolling Rod Holder?

I don't know about the Cabelas ones. The design is fine, it just depends on the plastic. I know there are two other types - Roberts and Attwoods - that look identical. One is bulletproof, the other will snap like a twig. Just depends on the materials...

I've use the Ram 2000 holders for muskies for years, and never had one fail. Doug Johnson has them on his boat, and if he can't break them, nobody can...

I have scottys, my buddy has Ram 2000, I like the Rams better but his have loosened up a bit so they sag back a little, the Scottys are more solid but a couple of my rods can get kind of stuck down in the holder and I have to give them a yank sometimes.

10k, what do you mean? At the moment I'm finding Scottys for cheaper than RAMs, so I might be inclined to go that route depending on your criticisms. I'm looking for flush as well as opposed to side-mount or deck-mount, are there any pros/cons to mounting styles? I just happen to like the look of flush mounts the best. As far as installation, just a hole saw right?

I have not used the Ram rod holders but I have used the Down Easters and the Flobee's and Scotty's.

My favorite of the bunch is Flobee then Down Esters. I would stay away from the Scotty's for muskie fishing.

I pull joited 10" Believers and the 13" Believer along with Jakes and other crank baits. The Believers get your rod tip pounding back and forth -eventually the Scotty's will loosen up or vibrate up and swing to the back of the boat.

I have used my Flobee's 3 years longer than the Scotty's and they are working flawless.

Good Luck

Steve
