minnesotahusker
It seems lately that whenever I am on the computer searching the web that more often than not, a tax HSOforum will load itself to the page I am on and take over what I am looking at, forcing me to reload the page or go back a page. Do I have a virus? Is it doing this because of tax time? What is a guy to do to get rid of this issue, it's very annoying.
minnesotahusker
aaahhhhhh, it just did it twice when I was trying to post this topic. It's a pesky H & R Block HSOforum add for doing taxes. Is anybody else having this issue?
upnorth
I would run a malware scan. Malwarebytes and Combofix are a couple good ones. I like to run Malwarebytes first then Combofix.
ZapBranigan
Sounds like you need a decent POP up blocker.
harvey lee
No issues here with that. I agree a good pop up blocker or a pop up blocker if you are not using one would help and maybe stop those ads.I use the Malwarebytes as Upnorth suggested and that also may be why I am not seeing those H & R block ads. itchmesir
never see any H & R Block ads here or anywhere.. more than likely its adware..
upnorth
If it is loading into the window you are using, it is not a pop up blocker issue. More than likely a redirect thing, that is typical of a malware infestation.
hoggs222
I'd get malwarebytes, as suggested. But, I reboot into safe mode WITH NETWORKING, download the program, update and scan in safe mode. It seems to catch more of the trickier ones this way.If you're not sure on how to get into safemode, restart the computer and keep hitting F8 (usually the key), select safemode w/networking. Your icons are going to look big, it's normal.
itchmesir
Glary Utilities is another great program for removing spy/adware
