candiru
Just wondering what others have done? I tried using the hex-head sheetmetal screws and they came out on me. Can you glue them in? Gorilla glue? Other ideas? 2wd and I mainly use it for ice fishing. I have chains for the back but steering can be almost nonexistent. usmcjsy
The longer the screws the better. If you dont want them to come out you will have to get screws that go all the way through the tire. You will have to put some stop leak in the tire green slime or something like it. I have done this and it works great. People that try to get the shorter screws and not go all the way through will lose them.
harvey lee
I put in approx 100 of the screws you are talking about each of my front tires and have not lost one yet this winter. With that said, I may only have about 15-20 miles on the ice with them but so far, they have been great.I measured the lug on my tires and then purchased them just a tad shorter so they would not poke through. Worked very well.I went online and did a search for different install patterns and went from there.
PurpleFloyd
I put 3/8 inch long sheetmetal screws on all 4 tires of my RZR. It ended up that it took 50 per tire to get the pattern I wanted and so far it has been enough. I have 200 more if I run into traction problems but I don't see it happening. Sonicrunch
FYIThe hardened studs intended to be used as studs are 10X better than regular sheet metal screws.
smeese
Gold screws......Ice stud company sells 1000 packs for about 60 bucks..real studs=way better
