I find myself always, always playing Squad Deathmatch. I haven't experimented much with the other multi player modes yet.

Not sure what gun it was but I am positive someone was shooting me with slugs from a shotgun from what seemed a mile away. I just started to play with the shotguns after completely overlooking them, they are actually pretty fun.

I need to get leveled up higher yet enjoy most of the good stuff. I just got the MAV the other day, for the life of me I cant figure out an easy way to jump on top of it with out falling off or completely going over it.

I am getting BF3 this weekend and can't wait! I am so sick of MW3, that game is so much worse than Black Ops.

How bad am I going to get worked the first month I play it? Any advice for a complete BF3 newb?

Advice??? Dont run and gun as much as you would in MW3, until you learn the boards and where the snipers set up. Far more snipers in BF3, which is not all a huge bad thing. Also, try and work up your classes.. Have a class where you can destroy tanks and such, there will be plenty out there.

Be patient on your spawn... Its way different than MW3.. you get to choose.. Depending who is on your squad.. you can spawn on a team mate.. Look to see if they are camped out or if they are running.. if they are running, a lot of the time its not a bad spawn. if they are camped out, much of the time they have already given off their location and its just a matter of time before they get killed, and thus you with them.

Try turning sideways and jumping on. That's the easiest way to do it. Otherwise, just back up a bit, and then jump. Make sure your feet are right on that little bar that runs across the top of the MAV. If you play xbox, and still need help, send me a msg. iP JoKeR

I wish they had some sort of combat training to learn without having other choppers, jets, and other people targeting you non stop, not much you can do without flares.

Took me a few nights to get competent at flying where I wanted. Still when I try to follow a target and shoot at the same time, I just look like a noooooob.

I can't get a feel for the controls at all. Defintely should have a sim/training program.

As far as weapons go, I noticed over the last few days the guns I always lose to "head to head", are the Famas, USA-12 shotty, and the 240 LMG. There are one or two others, but don't see them carried as much.

Played with some friends last evening.. Was a total of 6 of us.. so we set up 2 different squads(3 each).. we had 3 games in a row where we were the top 6.. what a hoot.. man it was fun.

HUGE patch coming out in the near future. Way to big to post on here. Pretty much everything is getting tweaked. Its been announced, but not the date.

another thing, and I am sure most of you know about it.. But battlelog.battlfield is very fun.. Much like the pay thing that MW3 has, but the battlefield version is free. Keeps all your stats, tells you your next unlocks.. Just kind of fun.

They finally released it huh? I'm glad, because I heard they're nerfing the distance of the Stinger missles, but increasing the damage. That makes me VERY happy.

wow they really changed the gameplay.

I dont like the whole concept of short cutting to get unlocks. (pay for the game, then pay to not have to play the game)

Some updates that got my attention:

* Shotgun Buck and Flechette rounds now have a less suppressive effect at medium to long range

* The MAV will no longer destroy vehicles that run into it, instead it should be destroyed

* The MAV can no longer be used as an elevator.

* C4 will no longer be detonable after a player respawns, if the player is revived within 5 seconds he can still detonate his C4.

* The M224 Mortar can no longer be deployed in an area that is out of combat for another team like a home base or other protected spawn

there is a ton more but I really like those changes, it takes away some of the noob moves people could get away with.

Agreed Dave. Those are all good updates.

The flying in this game has completely changed as well. They changed the air radar which, IMO, didn't need to be changed. You can no longer see your teamates on the rader. When I play with friends, we tend to fly very close to each other and do our best to team up on enemies. Yesterday we collided more in one game than I have ever before. Hopefully they fix that. Kind of nitpicky, but it bothers me.

I have noticed myself that some of the guns have more kick.. The Famas that a lot of guys ran with is a little harder to deal with.. Still a great gun on the game, but you have to treat it more like a burst gun than full auto..

My only complaint about the new system is the servers.. I can no longer find DICE servers to just play.. If I go to just find a game, sometimes you end up in a game that has 800 tickets per team and the game takes about 45 mins.. that and there are ADMIN now in the game.

I was in a game last night(conquest), doing quite well, capping objectives, and doing well on K/D also.. was on top of the score board.. and poof.. kicked by admin.. its happened 4 times now.. I guess they can just get fed up with loosing and boot you for no reason.

yes some servers have a bunch of goofy rules, IE no frags, or no USAS.. but I have always followed the server rules.. just bummed you dont get the points and such if kicked because they are a sore looser.

I finally had some time to play for a bit last night. First time since the patch to really see a lot of these changes.

Found one that really frustrated me. There is no M16A3 in battlelog anymore the name says M16A4 instead. Is this a bug or has it been replaced? I thought the stats for both guns were combined anyway but I really really hate the M16A4 because it only has that 2 shot burst and single shot that is worthless. I want that fully auto A3 back because it didn't have a lot of recoil and paired with the under rail M320 was a great gun.

starting to get really frustrated with the new "owner" servers. last night I was playing conquest on seine crossing, got in the 3rd floor of the one building and got into some close combat action. emptied a clip into a guy and knew I hit him several times. switched to pistol to finish him off, emptied a clip again and he was still alive. reloaded primary and emptied a clip again. ok?....we exchanged blows for ever and then finally the guy knifes me. Sent him a msg and asked how the heck that was even possible and what happened. The ADMIN switched it to knife only on the fly and then was turning it back off again....

so apparently these new owner servers, there is a way to make them gods on their own server so they are invincible. when they do it to tanks its even worse.....

as mentioned it is hard to find dice servers that are legit to play on anymore. if this keeps up I wont be spending much time playing.

got into a conquest game last night on Operation Firestorm.. 1000 tickets each team.. match took 58mins...uggg... but was fun.

They should have made EA/Dice servers an option in the "sort" function of the server browser.

If you find a good server, don't forget to make it a favorite, so you can hop back on at a later date. I have a few saved!

I'm obviously in the minority on this one, but I actually enjoy those 1000 ticket games on flying maps. All I want to do when I get on is fly around in jets and choppers anyways. You can rack up some serious points in those games.

I think they wrecked this game for the PC players. I'll have to hang it up and wait for Planetside 2.
