Made a quick trip out to check the shacks/truck travel today. With the new snow in some of the bays there is some slush. I came across one crack that had water coming up . Nothing to worry about.Truck was loaded with snow machine in back ,travel was no problem . Will have a update tomorrow night.

Cheers

Right now we are goin out about 3 miles from camp,(Driving by truck) Its mix of walleyes/ crappies more walleyes then crappies. Fishing 22 to 26 fow . When we mainly target Crappies we take the Snow machines and head about 15 miles across the lake. Fish in 30+ fow then. I hope this helps , Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions.

Cheers

Quote from Jiggy Anderson's Facebook

" An amazing place and untapped is what we found in the Morson Area of LOTW. I met some new friends and set the hook many times! Special thanks to Robert at Tolens Pelican Landing. I have spent many hours fishing here in soft water and now will be making the trip several times in the hardwater season. Put it on your list but only of you like catching endless amounts of walleyes, 15 inch crappies, monster pike and screaming lake trout. Seriously!!! Jason Hamilton, Steve Geertsen."

I enjoyed meeting Jason & Jeff @ Tolen's Pelican Landing. Rob sure does a great job! I would like to talk a little about the fishing. In my opinion, you couldn't dream of a better experience. Lots & Lots of fish with size too. I had a group of 5 in my cabin and I always worry about my guests having a good time and putting them on fish. I should know that LOW has a way of taking care of that by itself. Question for Jason H. & Jeff A., how would you rate that trip? Maybe you guys are used to such a bite and good time, but I am curious if that trip is the norm or if it was truly something special? I have known Robert Tolen since his family bought Pelican Landing, and I must say its a great addition to my Morson experience. I am surprised that his resort is not full all the time, but I don't mind because that means this hidden jewel is only being tapped by a blessed few. Thanks again Robert! WFT

The last dump of snow has did a number on parts of the lake. White Fish Bay has many spots of slush now. Had a report of guys stuck on WFB -(They got out late this evening .) There is at least one sled that is froze on another part of the lake after a group went back the next day to lift it out of slush. If you are traveling please use caution and let someone know your planned route. Walleyes and crappies are being caught.

Have a good one

Got the low down on lake conditions. The lake is rough slow going. The snow has harden so travel is on top of the drifts not through them. Walleyes were laying the feed bag on the last couple days. We are getting a couple inches of snow tonight. Slush is not a big issue on the main part of the lake . Will have a report again Saturday evening.

Have a good one

The lake is still really rough. Came on some slush in a couple of spots. Had time to get out with my daughter and wife to wet a line.Tried a new spot and picked up some nice Slabs. 1/16 oz glow pink blade spoon worked the best. Used both pieces of frozen shiners and plastic. 26 FOW

Heres a couple pictures from today

Robert, how are conditions in Whitefish Bay? I'm heading up on Wednesday and wondering what kind of travel we should expect.

Also is an extension necessary? I would have never thought to need one on trout water but have heard some reports of guys needing extensions on WFB...

We were up there last week. Which end are you going from, Turtle portage or Sioux Narrows?

We went in through Turtle portage and found slush in a few spots. Also slush around where you fished the day before. Extensions are needed. It was -30 when we were up there so I doubt it is going to get better with these temps.

A group went up yesterday some slush riding is rough.(Drifts are still hard) They were going up again today. If you are not pulling a house or riding double you should be good. I may go up on Thursday. The Lakers were biting. Good luck

Cheers

We'll be staying in Sioux Narrows and probably won't venture anywhere south of Annie Island.

Are extensions needed because the ice is actually that thick or because of all the snow?

a little of both. I would not go without an extension as ice thickness varied in a few spots we tried. They don't take up any room and will save the day if you need it. I did see some pictures from somewhere out of Sioux Narrows of a sled stuck in the slush but I don't know exactly where it was.
