Frabill Flip over

I bought a new 2 man shelter this weekend. It comes with several stretcher poles that attach between the main u-frame poles.

Does anyone actually use these? What are the pro's and con's of using them. They seem like overkill to me.

Thanks

One time i didn't use them and the front of the house was facing the windy side of the lake.. well, there was no snow and nothing heavy on the skirt either. the darn thing lifted right up and almost took my face off my shoulders. I now use the poles regularly. I found out they include them for a reason. (Not just to keep the fabric tight and out of the way of the heater).

My excursion has the back pole on the sled... Stupid thing is, it doesn't even reach the sled when I try to use it. All the other braces work though. They do control a lot of flapping since frabill makes their canvas a little looser than others I've seen. Mine is at least.

I have the trekker deluxe. The front door poles that are expandable are a must. They give you like three feet of extra room in the front. Especially a must if you are using longer poles. The other three I only use in extreme wind
