tip-up king
I used the 5/16" thickness tongue and groove from Menards. It is very light. I have seen others say to buy extra bundles (6 boards/bundle)because the quality is bad, but I only had a few boards I was unable to use. I purchased it on black friday and cost me $123 to do my shanty.
sticknstring
The stuff I'm thinking of is found on the opposite side of the store from all the lumber in pre-packaged bundles and they often advertise buy 1, get 1 free. Hopefully someone else will see this and chime in. Here's what it looks like.
tip-up king
I can't find the SKU online. I believe it was listed as 5/16"x3 1/2"x 8' tongue & groove carsiding. As was stated, when on sale its buy one bundle get one free.

Lip_Ripper Guy
About every 2 or 3 weeks you'll see it in the Menard's ad. They do a rotation of the regular, beaded, and 'cottage grade', if I remember correctly.

kerryd15
Man, now I can't see the TV when your cooking!! Think there will be any problems with steam or oil right under the TV?
tip-up king
I'm hoping the stove under the tv won't be an issue. Got the battery selector switch wired and installed. I can charge just the front or just the rear or both batteries from the generator.

tip-up king
Battery selector and converter. I installed an inverter to supply 120V AC for the tv so the generator doesn't have to run.
Kurt276
I built a house 5 years ago...I noticed your door in one of the pictures, I have the same door in my house. Make sure you have a torch in the house on those really cold nights. The door latch and lock will freeze up and lock you in. The door sweats terribly in the latch and on the floor, thus freezing. Once the sun hits the door it will thaw, but the overnights can be a bear. I am going to be putting in a different door this year, sick of dealing with it. leech~~
Man, now I can't see the TV when your cooking!! Think there will be any problems with steam or oil right under the TV? Maybe you could make a little vent hood above the stove with a light under to see what your cooking to block the steam and heat from the TV? You maybe able to round up an old or new one out of an RV supply place.

It looks like you are familiar with the computer fans. .I angled one at the door and let it run all night. Works Great keeps the door frost free. Lots of free heat near the ceiling . slammer
Where would one find a generator like that? What is the size and decibel rate? Great looking house!
JakeJ_Mn
I too have a RV door on my wheelhouse. I take the inside screen door off for the winter. My door also sweats and the lock has frozen both locking me in and out. Near the floor seems worse. I have a fan dedicated blowing on the door and always park east/west on the lake with the door to the south. Next year I will have a different door also just not sure what kind. tip-up king
Getting close to completion. I have to install upper bunk, polyurethane the interior and put the fenders back on. Added some steel to mount the fenders. My daughter cleaning. She insisted on eye protection She's pretty handy with the tools.
