Yeah, the hotspot maps aren't even close. But, I like the fact that they give you some tips of places to fish. From there I drive to the spots using the chip data and gps. Great combo. Of course everybody else is there too!

Not dissing them. I have one for Vermilion. Just using that as an easy source for the DNR data, because I think that is what they used.

I have a Lakemaster chip, not HD, and a Lowrance 522ci depth/gps combo. I can't remember whether or not White Earth Lake is one of the lakes with one or five foot contours. I have found the same thing on Big Cormorant Lake, which is one foot contours. The White Earth example is one of the biggest differences I have found.

My experience with a 522 and a lakemaster chip is on Vermilion, and I find it to be pretty close. Vermilion was surveyed and has 3 foot contours.

I might be off by a boat length or so when looking for a reef or break, but not by like a block or anything.

Could you have the wrong Datum selected? I think there is a menu to select it.
