bigpiker
Greetings,Yes... I know, I sit on it too much. My other bottom problem is this.I know of this possibly good spot to set up on. Being the water is stained the bottom is not visible in 8' fow.Moving shallower is an option but I was wondering if anyone has used oyster shells or similiar materials to light up the bottom.Probally not even legal? Would appreciate your views/ideas.Thanks and good luck!

Gordie
Some Dnr CO's will give you different answers with what is legal to put in the lake . I personally dont use anything I dont always have to see the bottom to spear run your decoy a bit higher the pike always look up they do not look down thats why their eyes are closer to the top of their head than on the sides or bottom.I have heard and know a couple of guys that use white plastic latice like on fences or a piece of white sideing but they alway retive it before they leave and there are differnt ways to do that also one is to tie it off another is to tie a short string to it and put a red and white bobber aout 3-4 ft from it and snag it with your spear then pull it up. efgh
Pick up a few clam shells in the fall of the year, cut a spear hole, drop in a clam shell and it brightens the hole.

gdog
I use navy beans or potato slices. Some guys use that white decorative rock you can buy at Menards.
