I notice in one of the post that a few people had navionis app on their phones, so im wondering if its worth it to get it or not. If so, I have android market on my phone which has two options one for 9.99 and another for 14.99, which one should I go with?

If you fish canada at all or think that at some point that you might then the more expensive one is the way to go. The U.S. gives you continental U.S. the other gives you that plus all of Canada Alaska hawaii . Its a HUGE value for the little bit of extra money. All those maps in chips would be hundreds of dollars.

$14 is considered expensive for Navionics? What has the world come too? Remember them days without smartphones and small devices. You use to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for the same maps. Nuff said.

Buy the $14 dollar U.S. & Canada one. Even if you never go there its there worth it. :P

Actually just bought the app a few weeks ago in preparation for ice fishing. Haven't had any ice safe enough to fish yet, but so far from toying around with it it seems like a pretty sweet app. Just make sure to purchase a few extra batteries on hsolist to carry around with you because leaving your satellite on really drains the battery of your phone.

At that price I'll take 2. That app use to be $100, not that long ago I spent about $300 for a Lowrance H2Oc, + $100 for the chip (which only has MN). Not to mention the screen was smaller, and the AA batteries it would burn through.....

More expensive is only refering to the fact that one app costs more than the other. If you really took it to mean it was expensive you didnt read far enough where i said the chips would be hundreds and hundreds of dollars for the same maps.

I have it on my phone and love it. the only thing I dont like is the phone isnt so sun or bright day friendly

They make anti glare screen protectors to help with bright sun ,if they make them for your model phone then its a dramatic improvement for viewing the screen. Check with your providers store and they should be anle to fix you up.

I loaded the app and really like lots of what it does, but I can only zoom into 213 feet. Is that the best it can do. On a significant drop off it will be very hard to pin point a depth. My XOG goes down to 12 feet, I think.

I've followed and used the Navionics iPhone App before it was even available on Android back early when the iPhone 3G came out mid summer of 2008. Navionics has since then produced newer better Apps and replaced the older ones which are no longer available for purchase. People are just beginning now to realize how good of a deal this is.

I think you mis-understood my statement. I was being sarcastic but in the part that regardless if you choose $9 or $14 this is by far way less than you will ever pay for Navionics on anything else. In in the past people payed hundreds of dollars for the same thing that you now can get on your phone for $9-$14. It's a no brainer. To just get the more expensive $14 dollar App regardless if you do get to use some of those maps or not because what most people spend on fishing alone this cost is pocket change...

The newest app is by far the best they have released to this point. I was a little dissapointed that i had to repay for it but when your considering what your getting for your money your still money way ahead from a handheld gps and a $100 chip. I now use this exclusivley and use my garmin as a backup. Out of all the available options these days this hands down the best value for what you get.

Thanks everyone for the help. I just wanted to know if it was a gimick or not since I was gonna download it about a two months ago and all the reviews on my app market said it was a gimick, it didnt work on their phone, or it had a monthly fee and there was only a few positive reviews. And you guys gotta remember that $5 is worth saving sometimes. Downloaded it though and cant wait to use it this weekend.

AEven if it isnt 100% amazing, for $10 its still great. I once spent half a summer trying to locate a small sunken island on a lake that I had seen on multiple maps. I could sort of stumble across it half the time, but always had trouble finding it. come to find out the maps were all off by a few yards. A $10 phone app would have dropped me on it each time.

So what you are saying is that the newest version is worth downloading even if I downloaded the lakes north last year at this time? Is it a whole new app or does it just update my current version? What are the perks to the newest download vs the one I have? Can't decide if I should get it or go with the one I have???

Navionics has more content and in select instances is more accurate in its high-def content. I've been running both sidexside on my boat for going on 5 years now and find both very useful. Lakemaster looks more exciting with it's wiggly lines, but I don't believe it is any better overall than Navionics showing the depths. Each has good and bad data in their maps.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
