If you look at the Modis Satellite images, you can clearly see the crack the day before this incident. The ice was obviously unstable on a large scale.

As slow as we were going back into the wind we could have almost trolled..

We did have a fire dept from the Red Lake Nation present during the rescue, would not have been a problem.

Seems like everyone is always quick to call "[PoorWordUsage]" or "stupid +++" before knowing all of the facts. If these guys did their homework and something crazy happened then so be it. Thank God we have people who are ready and willing to help. I for one have made mistakes and just try to learn from them. Let's just be glad everyone is safe. An ATV can be replaced,,, a life can't.

This is why I'm getting my hovercraft ready for early ice. Sounds like a very unfortunate situation for those anglers. Glad they made it back safe.
