Wisconsin's Beautiful Trout Streams

Driftless

Recommended Posts

You are a lucky guy indeed to have found such lovely little creeks to fish.I hope they will always look so natural and serene. But if nature runs amok, like it sometimes does, and pours a few billion gallons of high dirty water through them, are you going to resist trying to rebuild, restabiliaze and repair them?

I doubt it-not if you really CARE about those pretty little places. That's why many of the waters I listed earlier have had the pick and shovel and dozer work on them at one time or the other-because anglers cared about them and wanted them to remain productive waters.

Remember the tragic scenes of a couple years back when so many of the delightful little streams and rivers of SE MN were devastated? Aren't you happy to see that work has been done to repair them? Of course you are.

Even if those snooty guys from Tenn and Ohio wouldn't dream of wetting a line on them.

Enjoy those small waters-they are jewels.

Otter Creek Crawford County

Beautifully banked and sweet "habitat" made my mother nature.

Caught 5 brown in the over hang on the left.

Lost a sweet brown at shore that went 18-20 inches. No homogenizing required.

any of you look at these photos and see the beauty of the area...

go ahead and contact me and I will point you to solid water where

you will catch lots of trout and maybe a couple big ones. I am not

a guide. I have not guided in almost 4 years. I believe guides are

not really needed in this area with the abundance of trout in the streams.

LHArris, have you ever fished The Nimakogan? My grandpa used to go there a lot as my uncle had a place up on White Fish by Heyward/spooner. I am going to try that sometime soon. Just wondering if that is still a descent river for fishing.

No I have not but I have a friend that recently moved to Wyoming that fished that area for years and has GREAT things to says about that stream.
