Fish house floor covering

The house is getting near done. My floor is insulated with 1.5" of foam. I am looking a either carpet or the G Floor rubber flooring. This is similar if not the same as the black rubber flooring used in toy haulers. (Same "coin" pattern). My question is whether the rubber flooring gets slick with the snow tracked in and how fast does it dry? I have forced air heat.

Any other concerns or issues with the rubber flooring?

I would think that if any water gets under the rubber flooring then it will sit under there and rot. Maybe, maybe not.

Their HSOforum states that it is NOT slip proof. There was one poster who put the roll on bed liner on his floor, I am not sure how well it has held up. I am in the process of finishing off the interior of mine and I have been trying to make up my mind about flooring also.

I'm going to paint some of the floor epoxy paint on our floor. We've just had bare green treated floor for the past couple of years and have had no problems, but thought we should try painting it.

I have a Salem Ice cabin with a rubber floor (coin pattern) and once the forced air kicks in a few times the floor drys very quickly. I just keep a floor mat by the door. I never had any problews with it being slippery, the floor has a slightly rough finish.

I think you will regret putting in carpet after cutting out a few hooks. Last season my floor was painted with a textured deck paint that worked well and never was slippery, but this year after insulating the floor, I have installed 2'x2' 1/2" rubber fatigue interlocking tiles which adds a bit more insulation. Will see how it works out this season.

Thanks for all the responses!. Nordern, I knew I had seen a house at the ice fishing show last year with this flooring, I just couldn't remember the brand. I think I am going to put the G Floor down. Looks like it will be durable enough with the 4 wheelers running on it.

I've always used cheap carpet. Cut it in and fasten it with the hole covers. It doesn't bother me if it gets dirty or wrecked from hunting and fishing. It usually works out to $35 every two to three years to replace it.

As last post said you can get carpet cheap or free and it lasts and insulates. And if a hook gets caught in it just cut it out under hook. Always used carpet and it dries out good so you have no floor rot if you have wood floor.

Ugh carpet, dropped a brand new chubby darter into the carpet and spent the next few minutes cutting it out. No carpet for me in the wheelhouse, I like the rubber coined floor.

Carpet has worked for me in the past.

I'm looking into a truck bed floor liner and see if I can make that work.

carpet for me its easily replaced. it insulates, and if you fall out of bed and dont have it in you to crawl back in. its not that bad to sleep in.
