Thoughts on sents?

I am new to deer hunting and am heading out for the first time this weekend and while i was at Fleet Farm I bought some Doe Estrous. Any help or tips on how to use it? or Where to put it? also any other thoughts would help a lot! Thanks

I think the expensive fresh scent works, I would use it on a trail either drag it or put on bottom of boots and walk trails to area by your stand 20 yds etc not to close. I think doe scents sometimes may keep other does away but maybe not, seems like I see less does when I use it.

Different ways to use it. The most common way is to dip some scent wicks in the scent and hang them around your stand so the prevailing breeze/wind will scatter the scent throughout the woods. I think most use it as a cover scent as well, hanging the scent wicks downwind from your stand so the Estrous masks your human scent. Like stated below, a very good application is to make a drag rag. Simply take a piece of cloth, pour some Estrous on it, put a string on it, tie it your boot and drag it behind you on your way to your stand. It creates a scent trail, and the idea is if a buck comes across it, he will follow the trail and lead himself right to you.

Beware if you try minners method you might atract some pretty randy buck to a confrontation in the dark!!!

i wouldn't suggest putting it directly on your boots. that would be sending the scent down with your own and attracting deer to your direct location. scent drags or wicks is what i would do. if using a drag make sure to refresh it, otherwise the deer might follow it away from your stand as the scent will be stronger where you first applied it
