Pole lubrication

I just use sand paper. To get into your receiver poles I take a dowel and stick my sand paper onto the dowel and shove it up the receiver poles. Of course this works best with the round poles. The sand paper I use has the peel off paper with tape on the back. I've done this to my quick flip 3 and just got a used pro scout and that bad boy had a horrible time sliding. Now it's a ton better.

This is what I do. Take a 12 ga. shot gun cleaning rod with the brass wire brush

and put it in a drill, strick it in the tubes and that really cleans them out.

Use emery cloth to round off the sharp edge on the inside of the outer tubes and the outside of the inner tubes (its the sharpe edges that make them stick. Then spray silicon spray in the tubes and let it dry.

I fought some otter square poles for every second of the 3 seasons I had my Cottage. When it came time to sell it, I figured no one would want a house that you had to fight tooth and nail to expand and collapse, so I used a graphite spray lube moments before showing it. It's a dry lube once the carrier they use evaporates. Instantly, and I mean INSTANTLY, it solved the problem. Suddenly the poles telescoped just like butta...for the last 15 minutes of my ownership. grin
