Longer arrows.......affect on shooting

Quick question. Say your arrows are measured to fit your bow at 30 inches. You get a wild hair and buy arrows that are 31 inches. How will shooting an inch longer arrow effect your shots, if at all? This just popped into my mind while I was shooting tonight......

I would think that you would hit lower and that this would be magnified at longer distances but the bright side is you can always have the new arrows cut down to the same size as your other arrows. Have the shafts weighed and see if they are heavier, if you are shooting the same weight in the longer shafts as your previous arrows then arrow drop would be minimal to nill.

Slightly heavier and a different spine. Might be fine in your bow, might not. Expect to see a difference. Arrows will drop a bit, might only be noticeable at longer distances. The difference in spine of the arrow may cause it to not fly right with your broadheads, so be sure to test those too.

Worst case if they don't fly right you can cut that extra inch off to get back to the 30" you were shooting before.

I have a few longer ones (1 inch) that I practice with. At 25 yards or less there is not much difference but at 30 and out they will drift a tad higher. Not a huge difference though. They might be the same wieght as my cut to length ones.
