Whitetail Institutes Sustain Mineral ???

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever used Whitetail Institutes Cutting Edge Sustain mineral? It is supposed to be a fall attactact mineral. I've never had any success with minerals in the fall, so I'm wondering if it would be a good option. I'm just looking to put a cam over it just outside my "normal" hunting area to see whats around. If I don't get any good feedback, I guess I'll just stick with a scrape dripper of some sort.

Buying minerals made specificically for deer is a huge waste of money. You can get the same stuff at a feed store or fleet farm for about 2% of the cost. Most of the stuff is just salt and trace mineral. Trust me, Joe hunting company isn't making their product in house to begin with. They are buying it from an outfit producing it for farm use already and slapping their label and marketing on it along with a gigantic price hike (for the most part anyway).

I pay my daughter and her friends $5 per 5 gallon bucket of acorns. I put them out in the winter time with my trail camera to see what deer survived the season.

You are a genious fr0sty!!!! My kids like to collect acorns, I might as well harness their energy. A splash of acorns mid-winter would sure help the local deer out, and like you said get some pics of the bucks who survived.

Frosty if you kids came over to my house you would be bankrupt, I cant even walk in my yard now. I'm saving some to feed my pet deer during the winter, also dumping some out by a bear bait tomorrow.

When I offered $5, they both looked at me weird. I asked if that was too much or too little. Now I know the answer smile

Good thing is they won't likely take me for more than 2 or 3 loads worth. Hell, I figured I was getting off easy considering what a bag of acorn rage sells for.

Hmm, maybe I should start a side job collecting acorns and then sell'em online!
