circle hooks for walleyes ???

Looking for any advice. Thinking about trying some circle hooks suggestions for size and brand, lindy rigging them. Have been using Tru Turn 4# for years just looking for something different.

Gami's are sharp and come in a ton of sizes. Just remember DON'T set the hook. Just start reeling or a slow sweeping set.

I use circles for any fish when using live bait. Good luck

I've used circles for bottom rigs in the river, essentially a lindy rig except not moving. I've used minnows, leeches, and a piece of crawler.

Like the ebass, i use gamikatsu circle hooks usually in size 4 or sometimes 2 or 6 for walleyes. Tried some VMC's and just couldn't get them to stay hooked, not sure what the deal is with that. I threw them away, I was so disappointed.

I've done well, but I think if you aren't paying attention and don't "set" the circle hook pretty soon after they start nibbling they will still end up gut hooked. They are better than say an octopus hook at avoiding gut hooking, but they aren't miracle workers.

The sizes bobby mentioned above will work great for you. I use circle hooks for my daughter under a bobber, and her hook up ratio skyrocketed! Of course that is because she wasn't setting the hook. Good Luck!

I've been playing with them this summer.( mainly for wifes' grand kids, but her too! ) Just lift the rod, or start reeling. Work well. Did have some get gut hooked, but only once in a while!

I have been using them for a few years now when ever I fish with live bait ,,,I have to constantly remind myself not to set the hook and just reel or sweep the rod ,,,I havent had any gut hooked fish so far and I normaly go one size bigger then I would when using octopus hooks
