AA suit

I looked at Artic Armor at the ice fishing show last winter and decided I'm going to buy one this year. If I remember correctly the guy working the booth said to get the plain AA bibs, with no fleece lining because they go on easier over pants, and the AA Plus jacket for the lining. Can anyone confirm this? Also, how good of a deal can I expect at the show, is it worth waiting or just ordering it now?

Wait for the show. You will get a better price there then ordering it right now, unless you can find last years model for sale now.

You'll also want to try them on. I have the AA Plus, and though the coat fits great with lots of room in trunk/chest, the arms are much too tight. I ordered mine online and wish I'd have waited until I tried it on in the store.

A little late now, but Thorne Bros in blaine were selling all their remaining last years model of 50% off this past spring. I agree. If you can wait, the sale should happen again at the end of this upcoming ice fishing season.

ArticArmor has a strict minimum price policy on their suits and does not allow mark-downs at the ice fishing show. You'll get the same price / same deal now as you'll get at the show.

The lining in the Plus suits is a comfort feature only, it does not make the Plus suits any warmer, and it does grab at your clothing a bit. Some guys really hate the grabbing, other guys don't mind it. I prefer the slippery nylon lining in the regular ArticArmor suits myself.

I would buy it now and use it for late summer and early fall fishing... Nothing better than to sit out in the boat with a light shirt on under your AA during cold mornings and evenings in the fall... It also floats if by chance you fall out of the boat into the cold water in the fall.
