Moose-Hunter
As the title says... I'm looking to go triple with a fifth wheel and a 18'boat. Given the length restrictions, who builds a nice compact 5'er with all (or most) of the necessary creature comforts. On the other side of the coin, are there any to stay clear of?Thanks... Moose-Hunter
Hmmm.... 119 views and nobody with any ideas? I know this is a fishing site but some has to have a 5'er.... Don't they?Or is a conversion van a better idea?
Finns
Well I looked just to see what a short 5'er is. Can't help.
upnorth
Well equipped is a relative term. We have a gulf stream InnBruck 28ft and we like it. Our Neighbors had a Cougar 28 ft that was nice. Best I can say is take a saturday and find an area that has a lot of RV lots and go kick some tires to see what they have an what you like. Go home and look at what you can get for different prices. After you see what is there figure out what you "have to have" in 5th wheel and go from there. Have seem some nice shorter ones and some spectacular longer ones. We got ours new with hail damage for about 2/3s of retail. So there are deals out there with some shopping.
Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Speaking of hail damage, go with hard siding not aluminum skins.
Valv
Speaking of hail damage, go with hard siding not aluminum skins. But if you have any small damage (cracks, paint, etc) you'll have to replace the whole side. But anyway I would go with fiberglass too.
KatoMike
We have an '06 Coachmen 5er that we pull a boat or four wheelers behind. It is 25' with three bunks. Works great. The model is Spirit of America 25RBS. Not a super light unit (8600 lbs loaded) but if you are looking at pulling triple you probably aren't too worried about weight...
